Alexander Phillip Turner, BSc, MSc, PhD, PGCAP

Alexander Turner leads the academic-led team at APTML and stands at the forefront of artificial intelligence and machine learning innovation, with a distinguished career marked by groundbreaking research and transformative educational contributions. With a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the University of York, his work has significantly advanced the understanding and application of machine learning to solve complex dynamical problems, as well as working towards better treatment and diagnostics in healthcare. His passion extends to enhancing AI transparency in decision-making processes, a pursuit underscored by his leadership in the AI and big data analytics research group at the University of Hull.

As Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, and previously a lecturer at the University of Hull, Alexander has not only led research initiatives but has also been instrumental in developing the next generation of AI experts, shaping curriculum and teaching methodologies across several key computer science modules. His scholarly achievements include numerous high-impact publications and successful research proposals, demonstrating a profound commitment to leveraging AI for societal benefit.
